3Dプリンターが廉価となり、VRのツールが次々と登場している昨今、問題になるのはどうやってそういったツールに送り込むべき3Dモデルを作成するかだ。既に3Dのテンプレートはあちこちにあり、簡単に共有ができるようになっているのだが、自分が一から発想したものをモデル化するのはややハードルが高いと言えるだろう。
Vectaryはオンラインで3Dモデリングツールを提供することでこれを解決しようとしている。現在ベータリリース中だが、ユーザはここにログインすることでツールとストレージを利用し、好きな3Dモデルを作ることができる。デザインの共有もできるため、気に入ったモデルがあればそれを利用し、カスタマイズするといったこともできそうだ。
