SiriやEchoなどのAIと呼ばれる音声認識デバイスを使っているとたまにイライラするのが、自分の意図通りにAIが応答しないケースだ。確かに発音が悪いなどの問題はあるのだが、人間同士のケースだと容易に伝わるケースでも伝わらないことがあるというのはイライラの一つの原因だろう。
Patはこれに対してNLU（Natural Language Understanding）という手法を用いてアプローチする。NLUはその一語一語の意味を捉えるだけでなく、文脈の中で使われた他の言葉との関連からそれぞれの言葉の意味を捉えなおし、解釈するとのことだ。
